When does the Six Nations start in 2027?
The Six Nations is the oldest international championship in rugby union, contested each year by England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The opening and closing dates of the next tournament are shown above.
The championship is played over five rounds spread across roughly six weeks, with matches on weekends and rest weekends in between. Every team plays every other once, and home advantage alternates from one championship to the next.
Because the fixture list is drawn up tournament by tournament, the opening weekend moves within early February and the final round within March.
Grand Slam, Triple Crown and the wooden spoon
A team that wins all five of its matches takes the Grand Slam. The Triple Crown is a separate prize, won by an England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales side that beats the other three. The team finishing bottom of the table collects the wooden spoon, an unofficial title with a long history.
Kick-off times and the order of the fixtures are set when the schedule is confirmed, so check the official site for the round-by-round detail.
