Sources
A countdown is only useful if the date behind it is trustworthy. DAYREACH uses official or primary sources wherever they are available and shows the source on the relevant page.
Bank holidays and national dates
UK bank holiday information is checked against GOV.UK. Dates that follow a stable calendar rule, such as the first or last Monday of a month, are calculated from that rule. Fixed dates such as Christmas Day are labelled as fixed annual dates.
School holidays
School term dates in England are not set by one national calendar. We use the published dates for each area we cover and link to the relevant local authority source. Academies and some other schools can set different dates, so families should also check their own school's calendar before making important plans.
Events and sport
Where an event has an official organiser or website, we use that as the primary source for scheduled dates. Events whose dates change each year are reviewed when new dates are published.
