Privacy Policy

Who we are
DAYREACH ("we", "us" or "our") operates dayreach.co.uk, an independent information site for countdowns to UK bank holidays, school breaks, events and other notable dates. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the site and the choices available to you.
The short version
You do not need an account to browse DAYREACH, and we do not ask for your name, postal address or payment details on the site. Saved countdowns are currently kept in your own browser rather than in a DAYREACH account. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics services may process a limited amount of technical information needed to deliver, secure and understand use of the site.
Information processed when you visit
Technical information can include your IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, approximate location derived from network information, referral information and the time of a request. This type of information may be processed by the services that host, protect or measure the site. We use it to keep DAYREACH working, understand broad usage patterns and improve the content.
Saved countdowns and local storage
DAYREACH can remember countdowns you save by using your browser's local storage. That saved list stays on your device and is not currently tied to a DAYREACH account or synchronised between devices. You can remove saved countdowns on the site or clear the site's stored data through your browser settings.
Contacting us
The Contact page opens your own email service rather than submitting a form to DAYREACH. If you choose to email us, we receive the information you include in that message, such as your email address and anything you write. We use it only to respond to the enquiry and deal with the reason you contacted us, unless we need to keep it for a legitimate legal or security reason.
Analytics
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate information such as visits, popular pages, broad location and device type. We use this to understand whether the site is useful and what to improve next. Where a service uses cookies or another technology that requires consent, we will provide the appropriate choice before using it.
Advertising
DAYREACH may introduce third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy to reflect the services actually in use and provide any consent controls required before non-essential advertising cookies or similar technologies are used.
Legal bases
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on legitimate interests for activities necessary to operate, secure and improve a basic website, provided those interests do not override your rights. Where consent is required for a non-essential cookie or similar technology, we will rely on consent and allow it to be withdrawn.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase personal data, restrict or object to processing, and request data portability. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. If you have a privacy question about DAYREACH, please use our contact page.
Third-party links
DAYREACH links to external sites such as GOV.UK, local councils and event organisers. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover what happens after you leave DAYREACH.
Children
DAYREACH is a general-audience information site and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the way DAYREACH handles data changes. The date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
